This is my first post if
you hadn't noticed…
Let me introduce myself: I’m TJ Kuhl. Well, not really. But I am on blogger! I live in California, and I love my dog, Jessica. My siblings and I have taught her a lot of tricks. She knows how to balance; she knows how to dance; and she’s even learned self-control! She’s awesome!
Here’s an essay I wrote about her earlier this year (October, 2014):
Let me introduce myself: I’m TJ Kuhl. Well, not really. But I am on blogger! I live in California, and I love my dog, Jessica. My siblings and I have taught her a lot of tricks. She knows how to balance; she knows how to dance; and she’s even learned self-control! She’s awesome!
Here’s an essay I wrote about her earlier this year (October, 2014):
“As George Eliot said,
“Animals are such agreeable friends - they ask no questions; they pass no
criticisms.” Listening to all my wacky ideas, my dog, Jessica, does not pass
judgment on my thoughts. When my temper is short lived or I have a melancholy
mood, Jessica will perceive it, and she will comfort, calm, or confront me. My
dog is most amazing. Jessica’s ideas are truly an incredible example of
Jessica’s incredible brain. In
my eyes, I prize my dog the most because she has a personality, she is my best
friend, and she is smart.” (Keep in mind that I wrote this when I just
started writing five paragraph essays)
“To begin with, my dog,
Jessica, has a unique personality that makes her special. In this day and age,
many different types of dogs roam the world, but my dog is different and that
is one of the many things that makes her valuable to me. When a member of
Jessica’s people-family leaves the house, she waits patiently by the door
awaiting their return. Often, she moans and cries for a while. Jessica is
unique in this characteristic. When Jessica gets into trouble and gets caught,
she often realizes her mistake, puts her tail down, and gives herself a
time-out in her kennel as if she were ashamed of what she had done. Not all
dogs do this, and this is what makes her special. Above all, Jessica’s charming
personality is what makes me prize and cherish her.”
Next, she is my best
friend. In fact, Jessica seems more human than dog. While I am doing school or
writing papers, Jessica sits next to me and waits patiently to be petted.
Sometimes, I wonder if she is listening to class. One day I took Jessica for a
walk, and she looked at the water in the pond next to us. Jessica made the
mistake of walking too close to the pond which had dire consequences. Jessica
fell in. Even through the muddy, disgusting water, I still love my dog,
Jessica. As a result of Jessica being my best friend, I cherish her.”
Last, Jessica is
intelligent. In addition to being my best friend, Jessica is also extremely
clever. At night, Jessica stays in a kennel so that she does not escape into
other parts of the house. The kennel has a latch to secure the opening, but she
learned to lift up the latch with her teeth. Now, Jessica can let herself out
of her kennel whenever she wishes. Unfortunately, in this case, Jessica’s
intelligence helps her to escape. Jessica waits by the door when a member of
her family arrives in the driveway, long before any of her people-family hear
anyone’s arrival. She will not bark if she knows the person, but if they are
new to her, she is the first one to the door, and she begins to bark. Our
family cannot figure out how she knows who is coming. She has such an
amazing brain that God gave her. Consequently, Jessica’s intellect is a reason
why I appreciate her. “
I cherish Jessica as my
best friend because she has personality and she is smart. Being my best
friend, Jessica always makes me smile. Jessica has a personality that no other
dog has, and that is what makes me cherish her so much. When it comes to
brains, Jessica is genius. Furthermore, I challenge anyone who has not experienced
this kind of relationship to open up their hearts and make room for a dog in
their life. For me, Jessica is an amazing dog that I love tremendously, and I
hope that others can experience this joy. Dogs are marvelous animals and having
them in my life is a wonderful thing.”
As I was re-reading this, I found multiple "mistakes" if you will. It’s horrible. I could have changed it, but in my next post I'll post another one of my essays, and see if you can tell the difference. Hope you enjoyed!
